Etosha is the owner and operator of Dietitians of Northern New York, PLLC. She has over 10 years of experience working as a Registered Dietitian in various settings including hospital, long-term care, pediatric, and outpatient care.
Etosha's main focus is on weight management, diabetes education, disease prevention, and overall health and wellness. She can help you by identifying ways you can make small changes in your daily life that have a profound impact long term. She works by coaching you along your journey; forming a plan that you are comfortable with, following up with you, making changes to your plan as needed, and providing support and encouragement along the way!
Etosha is a certified Diabetes Education and Care Specialist (CDCES) and has a Certificate in Adult Weight Management through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
When not working, you will find Etosha spending time with her family. She loves the St.Lawrence River, where she enjoys boating, paddle boarding, and kayaking. She also loves to hike, run and cook!
Laura will develop an individualized nutrition therapy plan to help meet your health goals. She will take on the role as your nutrition counselor to optimize strategies and address barriers to behavioral changes. Laura believes in a patient-first approach as this leads to higher self-efficacy and lifelong success for patients.
Laura has ten years of clinical experience working with patients throughout their lifespan, specializing in medical nutrition therapy for gastrointestinal conditions, weight management, cardiovascular health, prenatal and postpartum needs, diabetes, neurological conditions, food intolerances, and family-focused meal planning. She also has experience leading cooking classes and seed-to-table programs for children.
Laura holds a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Science and Dietetics from Syracuse University. She holds a certificate in Adult and Pediatric Weight Management through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is certified in the State of New York.
Laura loves cooking and gardening and pursues an active lifestyle year-round with her family and dog. She is an avid skier and enjoys traveling.
